SEATTLE — Seattle Fire Department crews knocked down a fire at a vacant building near Aurora Avenue on Saturday afternoon, officials said.
The fire began around 11:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Roy Street.
Crews had to fight it defensively due to the heavy smoke and unknown conditions of the building.

Washington State Department of Transportation crews closed the southbound State Route 99 tunnel due to the fire.
Drivers were being diverted off SR 99 at Republican Street.
Officials have not said yet what started the fire.
