BELLEUVUE, Wash. — A collision involving at least eight cars Sunday shut down westbound I-90 east of 118th Avenue Southeast in Bellevue.
The collision happened about 6:16 p.m., causing a backup more than a mile long.
Washington State Patrol troopers said there were no major injuries.
Troopers said hail coming down in the area impacted the driving conditions causing cars to slide all over the road.
Eight tow trucks were called to remove the cars involved.
WSDOT later tweeted that one lane was opened to let traffic through but cars were still being diverted to I-405.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
