Comics, collectibles worth about $70K stolen from Shoreline storage unit

SHORELINE, Wash. — The owner of hundreds of valuable comic books and collectible figures was the victim of a burglary at his storage unit in Shoreline, where someone made off with items estimated to be worth about $70,000.

The burglary happened at a storage facility in the 14900 block of Aurora Avenue North. A King County sheriff’s deputy was called to the victim’s unit on Nov. 7 after the man discovered the break-in.

The victim told the deputy he used to own a comic book store, but since the store closed, he used the storage unit to store his large collection of collectibles.

The man said hundreds of 16-inch Marvel character statues, boxes of comic books, and Transformer figures were missing. Though there were still dozens of boxes left inside the unit, the highly collectible items were gone and there were obvious signs of a break in.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the King County Sheriff’s Office at 206-296-3311 and refer to case #C21035617.
