City now using photo enforcement cameras on West Seattle Low Bridge

SEATTLE — Starting Monday, unauthorized vehicles on the West Seattle low bridge will have a better chance of getting caught.

Photo enforcement cameras have been put up to help keep the bridge clear of vehicles that are not allowed.

The bridge is limited for use by emergency vehicles, transit, freight and a limited number of others while the high-rise bridge awaits major repair.

A $75 citation will be issued for those who are caught by the automated photo enforcement cameras.

However, all travel is allowed overnight on the low bridge.

The high span is expected to reopen in 2022.
