Caught on Camera: Police shoot, kill knife-wielding man in Renton bar

KIRO 7 has obtained new surveillance video of Saturday's officer-involved shooting inside a Renton bar.

Renton police were called to the Cheers Sports Bar and Grill in the 200 block of Williams Avenue South after 10 p.m. after receiving a report of drug activity in a car outside the bar.

When officers arrived, they saw a man pacing, and as officers approached him, he ran into the bar.
Police said the man was armed with a knife and started threatening others. The man ran to a 59-year-old patron and started stabbing him.

One of the officers then shot the man, who died at the scene.

The patron was taken to Valley Medical Center and is expected to make a full recovery.

The man has been identified as 20-year-old Mantry Norris, who is a Renton resident and has had no arrest record.

The investigation remains ongoing.
