AUBURN, Wash. — A driver on heroin crashed a stolen car into an Auburn home late Wednesday night, according to the Auburn Police Department.
Before crashing into the house, officials said, the vehicle was involved in a hit-and-run.
The victim of the hit-and-run was able to get the license plate and reported it to police.
Police said the vehicle was reported stolen from Tacoma.
An officer later found the stolen vehicle and waited for other units to arrive before making contact, police said.
The driver then decided to leave before the officer could intervene.
Police said the suspect drove toward the officer but the officer "did an intentional intervention" and turned the car toward a driveway.
Police said the suspect then drove between two parked cars and crashed into a garage – located in the 200 block of 21st Place SE near C Street.
Officers said the suspect, who had a felony warrant for his arrest, was “nodding in and out” when they contacted him.
Police said the residents of the home were inside during the crash, but were uninjured.
