Brush fire near Lind grows to an estimated 20,000 acres

ADAMS COUNTY, Wash. — A brush fire near Lind has grown to an estimated 20,000 acres and it started just before 11 a.m. on Sunday.

According to a release from the Washington State Patrol, the fire is threatening homes, crops and infrastructure.

Level one, two and three evacuations were put in effect.

Local firefighters working to contain the fire got help from the state.

Mobilization specialists from the Fire Protection Bureau ordered air resources to help fight the fire burning in sage, grass and wheat.

There is as yet no word on what caused the fire.
