A bride fulfilled her dream of a ferry wedding aboard the Salish on Saturday, according to Washington State Ferries.
Victoria and Chuck Shafer were surrounded by 115 family members and friends when they said “I do” between Coupeville and Port Townsend.
“It was perfect in every way and the ferry staff went above and beyond helping make it truly the most magical and happiest day,” the bride told ferry officials. “We really don’t know how to thank you for your help in making our ferry wedding dreams come true.”
The couple reached out to WSF two months ahead of their wedding because they knew their large number of guests was unusual for an onboard ceremony, WSF said.
WSF worked to make room for the couple and their group by making sure terminal workers and vessel crews were prepared ahead of the event.
WSF congratulated the newlyweds.
