SEATTLE — Seattle fire crews fought a 2-alarm house fire in subfreezing temperatures that spread to a second home early Wednesday.
Firefighters were called to the home in the 600 block of 23rd Avenue East in the Miller Park Neighborhood just east of Capitol Hill shortly after 1 a.m.
The fire quickly spread to the attic of a second home. No one was home in the house where the fire started, but neighbors helped two people who were in the second home get out safely.
It was 26-degrees outside at the time of the fire, and fire trucks were chained up after the recent snowfall.
The fire was under control in less than an hour.
No injuries were reported.
Firefighters are expected to remain at the scene for several more hours for cleanup.
