US 97 at Blewett Pass will be closed for six straight days beginning on Sept. 9. The Washington State Department of Transportation will be replacing three culverts, a type of drain that allows water to flow underneath a road.
This project will require weekday single lane closures throughout the month in addition to the one six-day closure.
The full closure will begin at Sept. 9 at 9 p.m. and continues until Sept. 14 at 9 a.m.
WSDOT encourages travelers to determine what alternate routes will be best for them, but expects that US 2 over Steven’s Pass and I-90 at SR 281 to SR 28 through Quincy to be primary alternate routes.
Drivers should start planning now to avoid heavy traffic on other passes.
