Judge: Auburn child attempted abduction suspect was deported twice before

UPDATE, JUNE 11: The suspect, Victor Y. Paz Fajardo, was previously deported twice, according to statements made Monday in court.

Paz Fajardo, who works as auto mechanic, was identified in part from two verbal domestic violence reports taken in 2017, court documents show.

His defense attorney, who said his client previously left the county, told the judge that Paz Fajardo has a history that includes domestic violence assault, second-degree burglary, and a 2006 warrant for a Pierce County criminal trespass case.

He also said the alleged attempted abduction was “out of character” for his client, who has five children and a sixth on the way. Paz Fajardo has more ties here than he does in Honduras, the defense attorney argued.

The judge clarified that Paz Fajardo was deported twice.

ORIGINAL POST: A man was arrested Friday after attempting to abduct a teen girl in Auburn, police said.

Police said they reported to an attempted abduction in the 1700 block of M Street Southeast Friday around 11 a.m.

A 13-year-old girl told police a man followed her in a vehicle, spoke to her, then got out of his vehicle and grabbed her.

Police said she resisted and was able get away from him uninjured.

Officers found the suspect, a 43-year-old man, and arrested him without incident.

He was booked into King County Jail for investigation of attempted kidnapping.
