Police said they took an armed woman into custody Saturday who had barricaded herself inside a West Seattle apartment on California Avenue.
Investigators say officers tired to serve the woman a temporary protection order at the Springline Apartments near SW Hanford Street when she pulled a gun and refused to comply with police.
The order required the woman surrender a gun and leave the apartment immediately, according to police.
The woman was taken into custody around 4:30 p.m. and sent to the hospital after police said she apparently swallowed a “large quantity” of prescription medications in an attempt to hurt herself.
Police said she then collapsed, ending the standoff, as officers stepped in to render aid.
No officers were injured.
