Amber Alert: 3-year-old found with his mother in Black Diamond area

SNOQUALMIE, Wash. — Update: An Amber Alert that was issued Sunday evening for a 3-year-old who was taken from his father’s home has been canceled. Snoqualmie police said Maximus Woodward and his mother, Morgan Cooper-Mcwade, were found in the Black Diamond area.

Original story: An Amber Alert was issued Sunday night for a 3-year-old who authorities said was kidnapped from his father’s home. It was issued by the Snoqualmie Police Department.

State troopers said the child, Maximus Woodward, was taken by his mother, 28-year-old Morgan Cooper-Mcwade, who is prohibited from having contact with the child per a court order.

It is believed that Cooper-Mcwade and the child could be with Edward Carte, 39, who has made threats to kill the mother and her children, authorities said.

Maximus Woodward is Native American, 3 feet, 6 inches and weighs 40 pounds. He has brown eyes and long brown hair. He was seen wearing a black leather vest, red sweatshirt and dark blue jeans.

Cooper-Mcwade is white, 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 185 pounds. She has green eyes, and blonde and pink hair. She has a spiderweb tattoo on her chest. She was last seen wearing a black sweater and blue jeans.

Carte is a white man, 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. He has hazel eyes and brown hair.

Authorities are looking for a 2019 silver Volkswagen Jetta with California license plate 8KPJ094. It has possible gunshot damage to the rear passenger side or tire.
