Alaska Airlines flying larger jet out of Paine Field to warmer destinations

EVERETT, Wash. — On Thursday, Alaska Airlines began flying a bigger jet from Paine Field to Phoenix.

Alaska debuted its Boeing 737 jet service, responding to demand as it is the only carrier flying out of Paine Field.

Their biggest jet that has flown from Paine has been an Embraer E-175, which makes the 737 a big deal.

The 737 more than doubles the capacity from Paine, with about 180 passengers.

The airline is considering adding more flights as nearly a million people have flown from Paine Field after Alaska started operating there.

Starting March 18, Alaska also plans to fly 737s to Las Vegas.
