Update: The 99-year-old woman who suffered burns to her body and was transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition died on Monday morning, hospital officials said.
Original Story: The Seattle Fire Department said medics transported a 99-year-old woman with burns to Harborview Medical Center on Sunday morning. A hospital spokesperson said the woman is listed in critical condition.
First responders were called out to her Seattle home on Renton Avenue South near Cloverdale Street around 11:15 a.m. The woman reportedly suffered burns to a large portion of her body.
Firefighters tell KIRO 7 they believe she was burned while cooking but said additional details on how she was burned were still under investigation.
