UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. — Deputies with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department say a 78-year-old man was arrested Monday after his wife was found dead inside their University Place home.
According to deputies, the man told staff members at a local hospital that he was involved in a physical altercation with his wife.
Deputies then conducted a welfare check on the man’s home, located on 61st Avenue West.
The 74-year-old woman’s body was found inside, deputies said.
The man was arrested on investigation of homicide.
