3 arrested in attempted catalytic converter theft at University of Washington Tacoma

TACOMA, Wash. — Three people were arrested after attempting to steal a catalytic converter off a Prius on the campus of the University of Washington Tacoma, police said.

Police gave a big shoutout to an alert citizen, who called campus security about the three people they reportedly witnessed in the act.

Campus security detained two men and a woman, police said.

All three were arrested for second-degree theft.

The men were also booked on warrants.
