21-year-old shot in the head at Monroe house party

MONROE, Wash. — A 21-year-old man was shot in the head at a Monroe house party, police said.

Police responded around 2:27 a.m. Saturday to a large party in the 17200 block of Sawyer Street SE in Monroe.

While officers were responding, the response was upgraded to assault after a gunshot was heard. 911 callers reported hearing arguing, screaming and multiple gunshots.

Police found a 21-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head. The man was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center and then transferred to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.

There is no suspect information. Police are continuing to investigate.
