2 accused in downtown Seattle shooting also suspected in Bellevue Burberry theft

On Wednesday, as William Tolliver and Marquise Tolbert were being extradited to Washington from Las Vegas in connection to last month’s deadly downtown shooting, police said officers served a search warrant at Tolliver’s mother’s home in Federal Way and confirmed to KIRO 7 both suspects are now under investigation for a theft at the Burberry store in Bellevue.

Bellevue police said the two downtown shooting suspects are suspected of stealing 15 designer belts from the store about three weeks before the shooting that left one woman dead and seven others injured. Investigators said part of their search included looking for clothing that the suspects were captured on camera wearing during the January 2 theft.

Tolliver’s mother initially agreed to an interview with KIRO 7 Wednesday following her son’s extradition. A woman, who identified herself as Tolliver’s cousin, later called back and said the family would no longer talk on camera Wednesday.

When asked by phone for comment on Tolliver’s return to Washington, the woman said he was “innocent until proven guilty.”

Criminal theft charges have not yet been forwarded to prosecutors, police said.
