1 dead, another injured in Lacey shooting, police say

LACEY, Wash. — One person is dead and another is recovering after being shot late Tuesday night in Lacey.

Officers were called at 11:53 p.m. to the 100 block of College Street Southeast for a report of a shooting.

When police arrived at the scene, officials said officers found a man and a woman inside a hotel room with gunshot wounds, with one of them already dead. The other victim was taken to Saint Peter Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Both victims, a 29-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, were from out of state, according to law enforcement.

Police did not report the gender of the person who died.

Police said there is no threat to the public and they’re not looking for a suspect in connection with the shooting, which remains under investigation.
