Legal pot sales up whopping 74 percent

SEATTLE — A new report says the legal marijuana industry is growing quickly.

Researchers from a California-based company say it could become larger than the organic food industry as recreational pot laws spread to all 50 states.

It found legal pot sales grew 74 percent in 2014 to $2.7 billion, up from 1.5 billion in 2013.

The report predicts the legal pot market will be worth about $11 billion a year in 2019.
