I-5 near Tumwater closes after 4-car crash
The roadway was reopened on Saturday afternoon, by around 2:30 p.m.

THURSTON COUNTY, Wash. — I-5 NB at milepost 100 -- just south of Tumwater -- closed on Saturday morning after a 4-car collision.

Troopers say the crash occurred in the same location as a fatal collision that occurred early Saturday morning.

At 11:45 a.m., the closure was expected to last for hours, and a functional detour was in place.

Officials had the roadway reopened at around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Traffic was backed up throughout the morning and early afternoon on Saturday -- for around five miles.

Officials worked throughout the day, investigating the incident.
