Home burglarized in U-District while residents slept

SEATTLE — University of Washington police said someone crept into a home while the residents slept and stole a variety of items.

Seattle police were called to a home in the 4700 block of 18th Avenue Northeast in Seattle’s University District Friday at 10 a.m. for a report of an overnight burglary.

A resident said that sometime between 1:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m., someone entered the house and removed valuables such as cash, electronic devices and jewelry.

Some residents were home sleeping at the time of the burglary and others were not home.

No one saw the burglar inside the home and there was no indication of a forced entry, police said.

The case is being investigated by the Seattle Police Department under case number 2014-17938. Anyone with information about the burglary or the possible suspects' whereabouts is asked to call the Seattle Police Department at 206-625-5011.
