Hearing the Super Bowl in Spanish? Here's how to change it to English

KIRO 7 broadcasts two separate audio streams. One is in English, and the other is SAP.

SAP is a “Secondary Audio Program” stream that may include an audio track in another language (such as Spanish) or descriptive video narration for the visually-impaired.

Most of the time English audio is placed on both of these streams so it is hard to tell them apart. However when SAP is available, such as during NFL games, SAP becomes Spanish commentary.

If you find your broadcast suddenly is in Spanish you need to change your TV or cable box back to English audio.  Here is a basic guide (your TV or cable box manual will have more exact instructions):

FOR ANTENNA USERS:

On your TV remote, go to Menu (or Setup) > Audio Setup > Language (or SAP, or Alternate Audio) > English

FOR COMCAST USERS:

Using the Comcast remote (not the TV remote) go to menu > menu (again) > setup > audio setup > English

You would hit the side-to-side arrow buttons to change from a different language back to English if it is on a different one.

There are a variety of Comcast remotes and boxes.  That menu structure is valid for most of them.  If you need further help, residential Xfinity is 1-800-934-6489.
