Fire destroys Arlington home while family reportedly on vacation

ARLINGTON, Wash. – — Firefighters are concerned flames could come back after a massive fire destroyed a home in Arlington.

Flames broke out before 3 p.m. on Friday afternoon.

Hotspots could produce flames again. Five different agencies are still pouring water onto charred remains of the house.

Arlington fire officials say no one was home when the house along with a recreational vehicle and a car went up in flames.

It took firefighters 12 minutes to get to the home because they were on other calls, but once they did they kept the fire from spreading to neighboring properties.

A neighborsays the family is on vacation until Saturday, but they do have a dog and two cats.

Firefighters are trying to determine if the pets were inside.

The family is related to one of the firefighters and they've been in touch with them since this happened.
