BELLEVUE, Wash. — Bellevue police arrested a man who stabbed another man in the parking lot of a homeless shelter Thursday.
Police were called to the parking lot of the Congregation for the Homeless Winter Shelter in the 500 block of 116 Avenue Northeast at 11:13 a.m. when a man in his 40s stabbed a man in his late 20s.
Officers arrived and took the suspect into custody while officers gave the victim first aid until medics arrived.
The victim is expected to survive the attack.
Part of the parking lot was locked down while Bellevue detectives conducted a crime scene investigation.
Bellevue police said patrol and bike squad officers are patrolling the area surrounding the shelter and conduct regular walk-throughs of the shelter to help build a relationship with the staff and its clients.
