1 killed, 1 injured in small plane crash in Lake Stevens

One person died and one person was injured in a small plane crash in Lake Stevens Saturday afternoon.

LAKE STEVENS, Wash. — Before 4 p.m., Snohomish County authorities said they were responding to a report of a small plane down near Frontier Air Park.

The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office said two people were on board the aircraft.

Authorities told KIRO 7 the co-pilot, an 80-year-old man, died at the scene. The pilot, a 66-year-old man, was critically injured and he was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center. 

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
