SEATAC, Wash. - City Councilmember Kshama Sawant was charged with disorderly conduct on Wednesday, according to SeaTac City Attorney, Mary Bartolo.
Three other protesters are also facing charges, after the group was arrested in the Alaska Airlines protest on November 19th.
The November protest was sparked by a challenge to the Port of Seattle’s authority to regulate airlines.
"This is about political leadership. All the best activists in the past -- and in the present -- have put their lives on the line to fight for the rights of workers," Sawant told KIRO 7 in November.
