12-year-old boy nearly drowns in Monroe lake

MONROE, Wash. — A 12-year-old boy is in critical condition after he nearly drowned in a Monroe lake Sunday.

The boy, who was with a church group at Lake Tye, was pulled out of the lake at about 4:15 p.m.

He was transported to Valley General Hospital in Monroe and then transferred to Seattle Children’s hospital.
