Claire's is recalling three types of cosmetics after Food and Drug Administration testing found the presence of asbestos, a known cancer-causing carcinogen.
"The FDA sampled and had tested targeted cosmetic products following reports of contaminated cosmetics marketed by Claire's," according to an FDA press release.
The testing found traces of asbestos in eye shadows, compact powder and contour palette.
The products impacted include:
- Claire's Eye Shadows – Batch No/Lot No: 08/17
- Claire's Compact Powder – Batch No/Lot No: 07/15
- Claire's Contour Palette – Batch No/Lot No: 04/17
Consumers with any of these products should stop using them.
Officials with the Florida-based accessory chain told the FDA they don't believe any of the makeup products are still on store shelves.
