Woman shot while walking near Mill Creek

MILL CREEK, Wash. — Mill Creek police are asking the public’s help for any information about a shooting that left a woman injured Tuesday night.

The shooting happened at about 6:15 p.m. near the city limits of Mill Creek on or near Bothell Everett Highway.

Investigators said officers responded to Swedish Mill Creek Hospital after a report of a woman who had a gunshot wound.

The 24-year-old woman from Kenmore was conscious and alert.

She told officers she and her boyfriend were walking near the road when she was struck in the knee after hearing a loud noise nearby, police said.

Officers couldn’t determine the exact location of the incident, but the victim and her boyfriend said Bothell Everett Highway was the nearest major roadway, and the general area was that it was near a “gray gas station and several apartment buildings, with trees and hilly terrain nearby.”

The victim was adamant that the gas station was not a 76 gas station, investigators said.

Police said a driver stopped to give the victim and her boyfriend a ride to Swedish Mill Creek Hospital.

Investigators want to speak with the driver or any witnesses to the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Chris White at 425-921-5759.
