The Pac-12 is working on a plan for a 10-game, conference-only football schedule, reports say.
The Mercury News reported that an announcement from the conference is expected no later than the end of next week.
The season could feature:
- A 10-game schedule with each team playing its division opponents, and five crossover games.
- Season openers on Sept. 19.
- At least two bye weeks.
- The Pac-12 championship game at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, possibly Dec. 4 or the weekends of Dec. 11-12 or Dec. 18-19.
The final plan will still require approval by university presidents and chancellors.
The Pac-12 follows the Big Ten, which announced a conference-only schedule for football and other fall sports two weeks ago.
