Deputies are investigating a homicide after a deadly shooting Thursday morning in Tacoma.
At about 11:30 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a victim with a gunshot wound in the 2400 block of 100th Street Court.
The 911 caller said that his 21-year-old brother was shot by someone who fled the scene.
When deputies arrived, they found the victim with a gunshot wound. The deputy tried to provide first aid but he died at the scene.
Deputies searched the area but couldn’t find a suspect.
At about 1:30 p.m., deputies tracked the suspect in Steilacoom.
After a 45-minute standoff, the suspect was taken into custody.
Investigators said the 27-year-old suspect is expected to be booked into the Pierce County Jail.
