Burglary suspect arrested in Queen Anne park bathroom

SEATTLE — A 36-year-old man suspected of burglary and vehicle theft in North Seattle was arrested Sunday afternoon in a park bathroom in Queen Anne.

At about 3 p.m., a homeowner reported a man who went into his garage and started removing items.

Police said after the homeowner confronted the suspect, the suspect pointed a gun at him before driving away from the scene in an Audi SUV.

Officers took a stolen vehicle report of an Audi in North Seattle. It matched the same SUV the suspect was driving.

Later in the afternoon, the stolen Audi was found in an alley near Third Avenue West and West Raye Street in the Queen Anne neighborhood.

Police said officers saw the suspect moving items from a garage into the SUV, but when they confronted him, he ran away.

Officers and a K-9 team searched the area and found the suspect hiding in the bathroom of a nearby park.

He was arrested without incident. He was later booked into the King County Jail.

Police said the Audi was packed with property.
