7 things to do this weekend: Sept. 7 - 9

1) Education and growth: Kittitas County Historical Museum, Ellensburg – When you visit the museum downtown, take one of several guided tours, which features public art, community history and much more. 2) Design in mind: Seattle Design Festival Block Party – Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 8-9, starts at 10 a.m. each day. This is a two-day street fair that digs into and celebrates ways design affects human life. Come out and build a relationship with other designers, city leaders or a future innovator. 3) Crushed fruit: Cider Summit Seattle – Friday and Saturday, Sept. 7-8. Attendees will be able to indulge in more than 150 ciders. There will also be some regional favorites, along with some international classics.  This event will take place at the South Lake Union Discovery Center Lawn. 4) Speak Klingon: Star Trek Day – Saturday, Sept. 8 - - Celebrate the day by watching a marathon of the television series that many have come to love, or just watch a couple of episodes that you may have recorded. 5) On tour: Grilled Things and Chicken Wings Tour, Seattle – Saturday, Sept. 8, 4:30 to 7 p.m.  While summer is still here, head over to the Chinatown-International District and enjoy some Asian cuisine that is deep fried, grilled and more. 7) Motion picture madness: Ellensburg Film Festival – Friday to Sunday, Oct. 5-7. Get in on the three-day event that is expected to bring film lovers from all around the northwest to the Kittitas Valley.
