7 things to do this weekend: Oct. 19 - 21

1) Tacoma fun: Holiday Food & Gift Festival – Thursday to Sunday, Oct. 18-21, starting at 10 a.m. daily. This event is at the Tacoma Dome. 2) Creative Joy: Quilt, Craft & Sewing Festival – Thursday to Saturday, Oct. 18-20, starting at 10 a.m.  From demos to make 'n takes, this event is expected to have numerous exhibits and classes. This event will be at the Washington State Fair Grounds, Puyallup, Wash. Follow this link for details.

3) Fall fest: Leavenworth Oktoberfest – Friday and Saturday, Oct. 19-20. This event welcomes all ages for some autumn excitement. There is expected to be live entertainment under four venues. Attendees will be able to enjoy various craft booths, bouncy toys and a climbing wall for kids. People will have a chance to eat food like turkey legs, pulled pork or German style cake. 4) Musical expression: Soweto Gospel Choir – Friday, Oct. 19. The choir will be celebrating "the centenary of the birth of the father of their rainbow nation, Nelson Mandela." Attendees will enjoy South African classics as well as freedom songs. Follow this link for details.

5) Neighborhood party: Fauntleroy Fall Festival – Sunday, Oct. 21, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. This annual event will bring together a community who will enjoy pony rides, pie-eating contests and much more. Kids will be able to decorate pumpkins and enjoy treats. Follow this link for details.

6) Train treat: Halloween Storytelling Train, Snoqualmie – Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 20-21. The adventure begins with a train ride to North Bend and then the Northwest Railway Museum. Once the ride is over, there will be child-friendly stories to hear.  People can also check out cider press demonstrations with a chance to operate a small cider press. Follow this link for details.
