7 things to do this weekend: Dec. 6- 8

1. KIRO 7 Cares Toy Drive benefiting Toys for Tots. Join KIRO 7 and Albert Lee Appliance to help create special memories for children in our community this holiday season. Donate a new, unwrapped toy to the KIRO 7 Cares Toy Drive, benefiting Toys for Tots, at any one of the five Albert Lee Appliance locations through December 5th. You also can join us at KIRO 7 on Friday, December 6th, to drop off your donation in person and enjoy a special day filled with holiday activities. US Marine Corps representatives and KIRO 7 personalities will be on hand from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. to accept donations, but you don't want to miss the Holiday Block Party from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Special events and activities at the block party include: Live holiday music from MOViN 92.5; Seattle's Best Food Trucks; photos with Santa; Local team mascots and special guests; and a performance by the Seattle Men's Chorus. 2. Toy donations with Seattle Men's Chorus: You can bring a donation to the Seattle Men's Chorus Holiday Program 'Tis the Season on Sunday, December 8th, at Benaroya Hall and enjoy rocking and rolling celebration for the jolliest time of year. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. performance, and all of your donations will be added to the KIRO 7 Cares Toy Drive, benefiting Toys for Tots.

3. Jingle to the finish line. Arthritis Foundation Jingle Bell Run. Seattle. Dec. 8. 7-11 a.m. Join KIRO 7 at the Jingle Bell Run! The festive spirit takes to the streets of Seattle, running to support Arthritis Foundation research and family and friends who are affected. Conquer arthritis together, and have fun in a 1K, 5K or 12K through the heart of downtown Seattle. All the registration fees go to a great cause. Follow the link here for more event details. 4. Downtown Redmond. Redmond Lights. Redmond City Hall. Dec. 7-8 from 4-6:15 p.m. The holidays are here, and that means enjoying a beautiful display of holiday lights with a tree lighting ceremony, luminary displays for local art, music and installations. Walk through all the lit-up displays, enjoy holiday music nearby with a station to create your own lanterns and games. Follow the link here for more event details.

5. Holiday magic. Victorian Country Christmas Festival. Dec. 4-8. Shop at more than 500 specialty stores, see outstanding holiday entertainment and taste sumptuous cuisine and wine at the 32nd annual A Victorian Country Christmas, Wednesday through Sunday, at the Western Washington State Fair Events Center in Puyallup. The only show of its kind in the Pacific Northwest, the holiday festival is a quaint Victorian village tended by Victorian-clad shopkeepers. The must-see extravaganza is complemented by free professional entertainment and activities, incredible shopping, numerous how-to-events, a wine garden and a wealth of family activities. 6. Indoor Christmas lights extravaganza. Enchant Christmas Mischievous, Nov. 22- Dec. 29. T-Mobile Park, Seattle. Enchant holiday lights are back and with a more mischievous theme to enjoy, including an all-new Christmas Light Maze, locally-sourced and curated food vendors, an urban craft exhibit, a larger ice skating rink, and live entertainment. 7. Holidays with the reindeer. Swanson Reindeer Festival. Swanson Nursery, Seattle. Nov. 9- Dec. 24. Nothing feels like the holidays quite like buying a Christmas tree, pet a reindeer, or get your picture taken with Santa. All of which you can accomplish at the Swanson Reindeer Festival. Bonus No. 8: Santa Train with Northwest Railway Museum. Nov. 24-Dec. 16, North Bend Depot. Various times. This season, stop by to enjoy a Pacific Northwest treasure, and get a photo with jolly Saint Nick at the Northwest Railway Museum. Celebrating its yearly tradition since 1969, the museum will be open for visits with Santa Claus and refreshments in the railway kitchen. Bonus No. 9: ACT Theatre presents “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens, Nov. 29-Dec. 28. ACT Theatre, Seattle, various times. The holiday classic musical returns to the stage this season. Adapted by Gregory Falls and directed by Kelly Kitchens, it tells the story of the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future. Three ghostly visitors will follow Ebenezer Scrooge’s transformational journey through time, discovering more about his past, present and future through the eyes of those around him.
