Multiple crashes, spinouts close eastbound I-90 near Snoqualmie Pass summit

Multiple crashes and spinouts closed the eastbound lanes of I-90 about five miles west of the Snoqualmie Pass summit.

The closure started at about 6:20 a.m. Friday. The lanes reopened at 8:50 a.m.

It is currently snowing and about six inches of snow fell overnight.

There is compact snow, slush and ice on the road.  Chains are required on all vehicles, including those with four-wheel drive.

According to WSDOT:

This is a MAJOR storm so if you don't have to travel this weekend don't. Conditions are very icy and slick and more snow is in the forecast.
