Drivers should expect heavy traffic Monday as travelers return from Labor Day Weekend excursions.
One of the worst spots is expected to be the stretch of Interstate 5 northbound between Olympia and Tacoma, the Washington State Department of Transportation said. Stop-and-go traffic is expected between about 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Other trouble spots include I-5 between Bellingham and the Canadian border, U.S. 2 from Leavenworth to Everett and Interstate 90 between North Bend and Cle Elum.
Other roadways may become more congested than normal because of traffic spilling off from those choke points.
