Woman injured in Capitol Hill gas station shooting


A woman was shot in the buttocks area late Friday night at a Capitol Hill gas station.

SEATTLE - Police are looking for a suspect in a Capitol Hill shooting that left a 23-year-old woman injured Friday night.

The shooting happened after 11 p.m. at the Chevron gas station in the 400 block of 12th Avenue.

A woman got out of her vehicle after pulling up to a gas pump, while her boyfriend stayed in the passenger seat of the vehicle.

Police said as the woman walked to the back of the vehicle she was shot in the buttocks area.

According to police, it is believed the woman was not the intended target but was inadvertently hit.

The woman was taken to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses told police a possible shooter ran from the scene.

Police searched the area but did not locate a suspect, who is still at large.               

Authorities will continue to investigate the incident.
