Woman raped, robbed in Thurston County home

LACEY, Wash. — Authorities are looking for a man who sexually assaulted and robbed a woman near Lacey on Friday night.

The incident happened in the 8200 block of Union Mills Road Southeast after 10 p.m.

According to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office, a 23-year-old woman was alone at her home when her dog started barking incessantly.

When the woman went to let her dog out of the back door of her home, a man with a knife confronted her.

Authorities said the man forced his way into the home and raped the woman. He then demanded the woman to give him all of the cash she had on hand and the keys to her car.

The man stole the victim’s white VW Jetta when he left the residence.

On Sunday afternoon, police found the car in an abandoned parking lot at Martin Way and Hoh Street Northeast.

Investigators described the man as white, skinny, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and wearing a dark-colored hoodie and dark-colored pants. The man also had a red, nondescript handkerchief or bandana covering his face.

Anyone who sees the described man is urged to call 911.
