Woman hurt in self-inflicted shooting at U-Village

SEATTLE — Firefighters are treating a woman who shot herself at the University Village shopping mall in what police said was originally reported as an accidental shooting.

"U. Village shooting is self inflicted," the Seattle Police Department said in a tweet. "Unknown what happened but being reported as accidental."

Video from Chopper 7 showed a medic rolling a stretcher to a storefront inside the mall.  The shooting was reported at the Headlines Salon.  The video showed medics later taking the woman to a medic unit.

Shoppers appeared to be unaware of the shooting.
