Woman attacked while jogging in West Seattle

SEATTLE — A woman was attacked while she was jogging Wednesday morning in West Seattle, police said.

The incident happened in the 5400 block of California Avenue Southwest after 5 a.m.

According to police, a man came up to a woman and grabbed her by the waist, pulled her down into a crouch position and fondled her.

The woman screamed and the man immediately let go of her. He ran off northbound and then turned east onto Southwest Brandon Street.

The woman told police that during the attack, the man did not say anything or react to anything she said to him.

Officers searched the area for the attacker, but could not find him. Police also looked for any possible witnesses.

The woman declined medical treatment.

Police described the attacker as 5 feet 9 inches tall and wearing a dark-colored hoodie and dark pants.
