A landslide covered a street in the Alki area of West Seattle late Wednesday afternoon following a night of soaking rain and high winds.
The slide covers about half the street on 55th Avenue Southwest off Alki Avenue.
A minivan was caught in the mess and Chopper 7 found a power crew tending to nearby lines that were affected.
If not for the van, the mud likely would have ended up in a home's front yard.
"I think the van stopped the hill from coming down, which saved the house," the said van's owner, Adrian.
Adrian said he and other neighbors are worried about soil erosion and what's to come.
The city said it will keeep the road closed until the soil stabilizes and then come and clean up the mess.
Several mudslides were also reported in Hoquiam.
