Westlake Center holiday tree goes dark

Updated:

SEATTLE - The giant holiday tree at the center of downtown Seattle was dark Monday night.

The tree lighting ceremony drew thousands of people to Westlake Center on Friday.

But a KIRO 7 Eyewitness News crew noticed late Monday that the tree's lights were off.

On its website, Westlake Center said there was a technical difficulty.

"We are working to correct the issue as soon as possible, and are all excited for all to experience our new fun, interactive tree, which is sure to be a musical treat for all this holiday season," the website said.
