West Seattle woman wakes to find stranger touching her face

SEATTLE — A West Seattle woman in the Gatewood neighborhood woke Saturday morning to find an unknown man in her bedroom.

Police said the woman was "sound asleep" in her home along 39th Avenue SW -- when she felt someone touching her face.

Assuming it was her husband, the woman asked what was going on; the man who replied was not her husband.

When the woman turned on her nightstand light, the man fled -- taking her cellphone.

Officers found the suspect in a nearby alley. The woman confirmed it was the man who had been in her bedroom.

Police say he entered her home through an unlocked back door.
