• Semi crashes into pole, causes power outage to 3,600 homes, businesses


    SEATTLE - About 3,600 homes and businesses in Capitol Hill, First Hill and South Lake Union were without power Wednesday morning after a semi truck hit a utility pole.


    Around 8:46 a.m., a semi hit a pole in the intersection of Denny Way and Yale Avenue.


    Several businesses and homes were without power in the general boundaries of East Denny Way on the north, East Columbia Street on the south, Interstate 5 on the west and 21st Avenue on the east.


    Not all homes and businesses in the area were affected.


    According to City Light officials, crews are working to repair damage and the estimate time for full restoration of service is 6:45 p.m.
