Two women assaulted and robbed in front of a South Seattle Temple

Two male suspects are on the loose tonight after they assaulted and robbed two women in front of a Temple.

Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at the 6900 block of 42nd Avenue South just after 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

“Preliminary investigation indicates that two elderly women walked out of the Duoc Su Temple and onto the sidewalk. Two male suspects approached them and tried to steal the women's purses. When one of the victims would not let go of her purse, the suspect pulled out a handgun and struck her on the head with it.” Seattle police said.

Both suspects were gone when officers arrived.

They are described as black males between the ages of 17 and 22.

The elderly woman struck on the head was treated for minor injuries and is expected to be fine.
