OLYMPIA, Wash. - A trooper in a patrol vehicle parked in the shoulder lane of Interstate 5 was hit by another motorist Friday afternoon, Washington State Patrol said.
The collision happened on southbound I-5 at Milepost 104 south of Olympia just before 2 p.m.
According to State Patrol, the trooper was parked on the right shoulder lane when her patrol car was hit from behind by another driver.
The trooper did not have any major injuries, but she was taken to a local hospital for back soreness.
According to State Patrol, the trooper was released from the hospital.
