BILOXI, Miss. — A 13-year-old Mississippi boy has been charged as an adult after he shot and killed another child while playing with a gun, authorities said.
According to the Sun Herald and WXXV-TV, Biloxi police arrested the teen Sunday after officers found the victim, described as a boy younger than 18, dead in a Covenant Square Drive apartment.
Police believe the gun went off while the suspect was playing with the weapon and pointing it at others, the Sun Herald reported, citing a Biloxi police news release.
The teen is being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center on a $250,000 bond, the news outlets reported.
